The state’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government has called for a Maharashtra bandh on Monday, October 11 to protest the incident in Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh. Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP from Kalyan Dombivali will also participate in it with full strength. Local leaders of the three parties have appealed to traders and shopkeepers in Kalyan Dombivali to participate in tomorrow’s bandh. The Kalyan Dombivali District Congress has given a direct warning that you will be responsible for the loss if you do not participate in the bandh.
The shocking incident of crushing agitating farmers by jeep took place a few days back in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh. The repercussions of this incident also happened in Maharashtra and the Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP in the Mahavikas Aghadi government in the state called for a Maharashtra Bandh. Against this backdrop, the local leaders of the three parties in Kalyan Dombivali have said that they will participate in tomorrow’s bandh with full force and the people of Kalyan Dombivali have also appealed for a spontaneous response.
On the other hand, Kalyan District Congress issued a statement to the shopkeepers in Kalyan this evening and appealed them to participate in tomorrow’s bandh. Also, the bandh has been called for the extremely poor and shopkeepers and traders in Kalyan Dombivali should participate in it. Otherwise, he will be responsible for the damage, warned Congress district president Sachin Pote. Various office bearers including Vice President Vimal Thakkar were present on the occasion.
