Welfare 11th October:
The Maharashtra bandh called today to protest the Lakhimpur incident is getting a mixed response in Kalyan Dombivali. After the NCP, Shiv Sena also protested in Kalyan and expressed its anger. Shiv Sainiks were angry as the rickshaw pullers continued their rickshaws despite appeals.
Against the backdrop of Maharashtra Bandh, Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP had made it clear in Kalyan Dombivali that they would participate in today’s Bandh with full force. However, Shiv Sainiks got angry when they saw rickshaws plying in the city this morning and started protesting on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Ravi Patil. At this time, some angry Shiv Sainiks appealed to the rickshaw pullers to stop the rickshaw by using foreign language.
Meanwhile, the police intervened and sidelined the Shiv Sena protesters. It is surprising to see that only a few office bearers and activists of Shiv Sena participated in the protest.
