Welfare July 18:
The life of the grandfather who crossed the railway line was saved due to the foresight shown by the motorman. The incident took place at Kalyan railway station around 12.30 pm today.
The Mahanagari Express from Mumbai to Varanasi departed from Platform No. 4 of Kalyan. And at the same time, some distance away, an elderly grandfather was standing on the railway track with the intention of committing suicide. The car was speeding in just seconds. Seeing the grandfather on the rails, the motorman of the express, S. K. Pradhan also blew the horn repeatedly. But Grandpa didn’t wake up at all until the car came forward. Only Motorman S. K. Principal and Assistant Motorman Ravi Shankar put all his skills and experience to the test and hit the brakes of the Express. By then, the front of the express engine had passed through Grandpa’s body. The motorman and the railway police rushed to the spot and saw that the grandfather was safe. He gently pulled Grandpa out of the front of the engine and rushed him to the train station.
Expressmen SK Pradhan and Ravi Shankar of Express are appreciating this opportunity.
